The East Perth campus is Central's Resources Industry precinct and offers programmes of great importance to West Australia's development including:

  • sustainability and renewable energy
  • building and construction
  • mining
  • surveying
  • science and technology.

 

Other programs also located at East Perth include Digital Content, Science, Resources and Environmental, and an important segment of our large number of Engineering programs -  Electronics, Computer Systems Engineering and Networking as well as Electrical Trades.

Student Services

Student Services is located on level 1 of Building A.

 

Aroma Cafe

Aroma Cafe LogoConveniently located on the ground floor in Building 1, Aroma offers a large, tasty variety of fresh hot and cold food and drinks, including our award winning coffee.
 
The café is open for from breakfast through to lunch and the afternoon:

Monday to Thursday: 7:30am- 5:30pm
Friday: 7:30am-2:30pm

Closed during the weekends and holidays but vending machines are available
 

Library

East Perth has a well resourced library with computer and photo copying facilities.
 

Prayer Room

Central embraces the religious and spiritual diversity of its staff and student community. In recognition of this diversity, the East Perth campus has a dedicated prayer room for staff and students.

Parking

There is no student parking on the East Perth campus, although there are Perth City Council car parks next to the campus.

Bicycle paths and racks
Central's campuses are ideally located along many of the city's cycle routes.

 Centres

 
There are two main Centres of Specialisation on the campus and a third is currently being built.
 

Renewable Energy and Sustainability Centre

The new, $3.3 million Mining and Renewable Energy Training Centre facility allows students to develop sought after skills in both the resource and sustainability sectors.

On the resources side, the Centre has a core yard where students hoping to become Field Assistants or Pit Technicians can interpret the geology of a drill core (rock sample).
 
It also has a Fire Assay Laboratory where students can learn how to extract gold or any of the base metals from a mineral sample. Plus for those interested in careers in the exploration/mineral drilling side, there is a 4-wheel drive training and maintenance facility.
 

Green Skills Training Centre

The Centre will provide green skills training for technicians in the Engineering and Building, Design and Architectural studies areas; Electricians, Plumbers, Painters and Builders; specialised green jobs in renewable energy, bio-technology, water operations and environmental management.
 
The Centre will also act as a demonstration centre for sustainable design and energy efficiency.
