Directions Referral Centre
Central's Directions Referral Centre is a friendly environment where students and members of the public can come to relax, have a chat and use our referral services.
Run by enthusiastic students completing their Certificate IV in Youth Work, Directions is a non-religious, non-judgemental, non-for-profit organisation with all proceeds going towards improving our services and centre. Our small team of volunteer students are under the direction of qualified staff from Central Institute of Technology.
Services for students
Our free service is primarily a referral centre offering a space where Central students can socialise and meet new people. We provide referrals for variety of services in order to best meet our clients needs when it comes to:
- Accommodation
- Addiction
- Counselling
- Disability
- Education and training
- Finance
- Health
- Legal aid and much more!
Our facilities
Our facilities, located at Leederville Campus, include an information kiosk, pool table, computers, internet connection, study area, lounge area for relaxing and reception area. We are adding new facilities all the time - drop in and take a look.
Directions events
Directions runs events that solely aim to benefit the community. The purpose of a Directions event is to promote our service, encourage inter-student socialisation, raise funds to improve our centre and most of all to have fun.
Food and entertainment is often donated or volunteered by event sponsors who understand the importance of our service.
'The Friendship Club' provides activities and events especially for those with disabilities.

We are always looking for talented individuals to provide entertainment for events or fresh artwork for our referral centre. If you would like to volunteer your services for an event or have your artwork showcased at our centre then we would love to hear from you! Drop by our centre or give us a call if you think you have something to offer.
Open hours
Directions is open to the public five days a week, except on holidays. Our doors are open:
Monday to Friday: 11am to 3pm.
